Founded in 1855, Alois Lageder is a family-owned winery, situated in Italy's most northern region, the mountainous Alto Adige, right in the middle of the dramatic scenery of the Dolomite peaks.
Vineyards owned and farmed by the Lageder family includes some 60 hectares in some of the areas most desirable sites.
Alois Lageder’s particular attention goes towards the selection and best possible utilisation of terroir. Respect for the environment has priority based on the principles of holistic thinking and acting. Alois Lageder’s adherence to a philosophy of quality and innovation, both in vineyard and cellar, has led to his becoming a leader in his native Alto Adige, reviving the long dormant fine winemaking potential of this region.
Alois Lageder produces wines at three different quality levels: Classic Wines, Single Vineyard Selections and Estate Wines. Classic Wines include wines from the traditionally grown grapes of Alto Adige. Single-variety white, rosé and red wines of premium quality.
Single Vineyard Selection Wines make use of the grapes of selected, individual vineyards, separately vinified. The characteristic features of each particular place and exposure find resonant expression: “Haberlehof” Pinot Bianco, “Benefizium Porer” Pinot Grigio, “Lehenhof” Sauvignon Blanc, “Am Sand” Gewürztraminer, “Lindenburg” Lagrein, “Margreid” Moscato Rosa. The Estate Wines are the flagship wines of Alois Lageder. Grapes from exceptional locales and exposures are carefully selected according to rigorous standards. They mature in barriques of French oak into fine, complex wines: “Löwengang” Chardonnay, “Krafuss” Pinot Noir, “MCM” Merlot and “Cor Römigberg” Cabernet Sauvignon. |
