Brands Umani Ronchi
The winery was founded in Cupramontana the capital of Verdicchio (producing) area in the 1950s.
Some years after, the ownership was taken over by the Bianchi Bernetti family who is the current owner. Two new cellars were built in Castelbellino and Osimo. The first was destined to the vinification of Verdicchio, the second one to the processing of Rosso Conero, bottling and warehousing of wines. Today Umani Ronchi owns 110 hectares of vineyards in the Verdicchio Classico area, 60 hectares in Rosso Conero and 30 in the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo area. Although the company vocation is primarily based on the improvement of native varietals – particularly Verdicchio and Montepulciano – some of the most international famous grape varietals (Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) have been grown with excellent results. In the wait for new wines from Colline Teramane “signed” by Umani Ronchi, the Bernetti family has conquered another prestigious “cru” in the DOC of the Verdicchio Classico which adds to the existing property in the zone - 8.5 hectares of vineyards in Cupramontana, right in the vertex of the hill, which will be completely dedicated to the production of a new wine. |
