For the first time an Italian team in the Institute of Master of Wine in London


THE INSTITUTE OF FINE ITALIAN WINES – PREMIUM BRANDS-  BECOMES PARTNER OF THE WORLD OENOLOGY ACADEMY.
PIERO ANTINORI: NEW INTERNATIONAL ROUTES ARE NEEDED TO REMAIN COMPETITIVE.
LYNNE SHERIFF: MASTERS OF THE WINE HONOURED OF WORKING WITH SUCH A PRESTIGIOUS ITALIAN GROUP.



(London, 10th November). Italian first entry in the world academy of viticulture and oenology. The Institute of Fine Italian Wines- Premium Brands becomes partner of the IMV, The Institute of Masters of Wine, the prestigious institution in London (277 members selected from around the world) that, for over fifty years, aims to train the most qualified international experts in wine.

Thank to this agreement, for the first time, the Institute of Fine Italian Wines- Premium Brands- almost 3 thousand years of history and a turnover of 500 million euros in 2008 - will have an active role in international education and training programs. The seventeen icons of national quality wine (Biondi Santi spa, Michele Chiarlo, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, Pio Cesare, Tenuta San Guido, Ca 'del Bosco, Umani Ronchi, Carpenè Malvolti, Lungarotti, Masi, Mastroberardino, Alois Lageder, Rivera, Jermann , Donnafugata, Marchesi Antinori, Tasca D'Almeria) will develop official study programs for future workers in wine industry through routes dedicated to Italian wine, international tasting, tours and symposia. The password is spreading the culture of quality and the knowledge of wine through prestigious and selected collaborations. Masters of Wine’s graduates will lead the international tasting of the Premium Brands, also taking part to the events that the Institute supports around the world by specialized press, sommeliers, opinion leaders and IMW’s members.

For the President of the Premium Brands, Piero Antinori, "Competitiveness has been for long a necessary condition to survive even in the wine sector, where competition is becoming fiercer and fiercer, and there’s no room for improvisation. That’s why we new instruments and international routes are needed to establish Italian leadership in the world”. Opinion shared also by Lynne Sherif, Vice President of the Institute of Masters of Wine, who states that "the world community of IMW will benefit from being able to work so closely with the group represented by the Institute of Fine Italian Wines - Premium Brands." Tokyo (November 24th) and Seoul (November 26th) will be the first cities to host the training and tasting courses signed by the Institute of Fine Italian Wines - Premium Brands  and Masters of Wine.

The first appointments of the collaboration between the Institute of Fine Italian Wines - Premium Brands   and  Masters of Wine  will take place in Tokyo (24th November) and Seoul (26th November).
