Antonio Carpenè, famous oenologist and chemical scientist, founded the Company in 1868. The name Carpenè Malvolti has played a key role in the history of Sparkling Prosecco: it is a history made up of study and research, and of traditions passed on through four generations of great sparkling wine makers. In 1877, Antonio Carpenè founded the first School of Oenology in Italy, at Conegliano Veneto located at 40 km north of Venice and it is one of Italy’s top enology institutes.
