Golden Sickle to Jermann

author: Jermann

The Thanksgiving of the City of Dolegna del Collio, now in its 45th edition, was celebrated this year in our winery in Ruttars the 11th of November 2011, at 11.11 a.m.
As per tradition, the Archbishop Dino De Antoni celebrated Mass to thank St. Martin and the fruits of the earth, through the readings of the Bible and through the many insights, followed by the blessing of the tractors.
After the liturgy, many local authorities including the Major of Dolegna, Mr Diego Bernardis, the President of Udine Mr Pietro Fontanini, the Vice-President of Gorizia, Mr Mara Cernic, the Regional Council and the Prefect of Gorizia Ms Maria Augusta Marrosu, were up on stage to deliver the traditional Golden Sickle Award.

This award is annually given to personalities who have distinguished themselves in the field of agricultural development and tourism. The prize went this year to Angelo and Bruna Jermann, reflecting the work of the land 'of a time', the symbol of trouble and the sacrifices of past generations, and of the most important wine in the world: Jermann company.

During the ceremony, the honorary Consul of Italy in Klagenfurt, Mr Heimo Penker, received the Gold Leaf as a reference of Italian interests in Styria and Carinthia.
